Marc Jacobs Stam Bag

July 10, 2006 by The Desirers

Marc Jacobs Quilted BagMallory Road: Framed bags, chain straps and quilted fabric—these are three things I’ve been seeing a lot of in recent magazines and the Marc Jacobs Stam Bag (16″ l x 11″ h x 6″ d) embodies them all.

Selling for $1,275, this purse is available in black or mouse (gray), has double top handles with a chain strap, one outside pocket and one interior pocket.

I’m not an overly huge fan of chain handles, so I’d prefer to remove the chain, but I do like the framed bag design, especially since framed bags usually have kiss-lock closures, which I adore.

Designer Ella: Drool! No wonder, then, why it’s such an IT craze. It’s the IT bag of the Summer! I was recently struck with love for this bag after being hit over the head with seeing all the copies. I’ve been nutty for it all week. Perfect bag to post today except that it’ll make it worse for me. I want this bag! Give it all to me, the quilted leather, the zippered pocket, and yes—that chain! I shall wear it hanging while I arm-crook the purse. Oh, yes. (But alas, no :-(.)

The good news is I can carry the Marc by Marc Jacobs quilted velvet bag I did afterall buy at the end of the winter season and feel all better. Right? Better than buying a fake leather imitation of a fad that I’ll never wear and will be absolutely hideous, certaintly!
